Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly - Set of 9 Bowls - Seconds
This was a huge and very silly project that I am quite proud of! I've listed the diameter, height, and volume/capacity of each bowl. While over all this set came out Gloriously, some of the pieces have come out of the kiln with notable flaws, SOME OF WHICH IMPACT THE FUNCTION OF THE PIECES, described below, please see photos for details. Functional flaws highlighted in yellow. There are photos of each piece including flaws in the photos here in the listing, the bowls are in order of smallest to largest. - Fly: 2.5"D, 1.25"H, 1.5 oz - perfecto!
- Spider: 3.5"D, 1.75"H, 4.5 oz - perfecto!
- Bird: 4.5"D, 2"H, 9 oz (1 cup + change) - Slow seeping issue!
- There is a hairline split/crack on the underside of the piece. It does not appear to go all the way through, but I conducted seeping test (fill the bowl with water and leave it overnight on a paper towel and see if the paper towel is damp in the morning) - it was hard to tell, but the paper towel was a tiny bit damp, which means it failed the seep test. I would technically consider this piece to be NOT food safe, however I am reckless so I'd probably use it for food anyway. I would just wash it promptly and would NOT leave it for an extended period of time full of liquid on a nice wooden surface, in case it were to cause moisture damage.
- Cat: 5.25"D, 2.5"H, 19.5 oz (2 cups + change) - Slow seeping issue!
- See description above for bird bowl, nearly identical issue.
- Dog: 6.75"D, 3"H, 35 oz (4 cups + change; 1 QT) - perfecto!
- Goat: 8"D, 3.25"H, 56 oz (7 cups; 1.75 QT) - perfecto!
- Cow: 8.35"D, 3.5"H, 76 oz (9.5 cups; 2.4 ish QT) - Interior Pinhole:
- There is a pinhole (small pit) in the glaze on the inside of the bowl, in the very middle. Moderate functional flaw, potential for food particles to get smooshed in there. Please be sure to wash thoroughly, and/or in the dishwasher to ensure sanitization. Personally I would still use this for food without batting an eye but it is important to point out!
- Horse: 9.75"D, 3.75"H, 92 oz (11.5 cups; <3 QT) - minor glaze crawling (cosmetic only):
- This bowl has a couple of small crawling spots on the interior. Cosmetic flaw that does not affect the function of the piece.
- Old Lady: 10.75"D, 4"H, 130 oz (16.25 cups; 1 gallon plus change) - modest glaze crawling and warping (cosmetic only):
- This bowl is slightly warped (not perfectly round) from the glaze firing. It also has some moderate glaze crawling on the interior. These are cosmetic flaws which do not affect the function of the piece.

Enjoy your drink (or food, I don't judge) in this wheel thrown, hand decorated/carved stoneware mug made by yours truly. It's perfect for coffee and tea, or smoothies or beer or etc etc.
All of my work is lead free, food, microwave, and dishwasher safe, but I always recommend hand washing with care!
